DENVER – (March 21) Ahead of the beginning of conference play, the Western Athletic Conference announced the pre-conference men’s tennis coaches poll on Tuesday, with Grand Canyon at the top of the list. Seattle U was picked to finish fifth.

The poll was voted by the six coaches in the league, and they picked GCU as the favorite with five first-place votes. New Mexico State received the remaining first-place vote and came in second. Kansas City and UTRGV are three and four, respectively, and Seattle U and Chicago State round out the league.

The Redhawks carry a 7-9 overall record into conference play starting in Kansas City, Mo. on Thursday March 29. They are coming off of a 7-0 shutout of Lewis-Clark State College and will look to build some momentum.

They will face the favorite GCU on Thursday at 4 p.m., then Kansas City on Friday at 11:30 p.m., and close out the first conference weekend with New Mexico State on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
