SEATTLE – (Mar. 22) Western Athletic Conference play begins this week as the Seattle University baseball travel to face New Mexico State in a three-game series Friday through Sunday in Las Cruces, N.M. The Redhawks (12-7) and Aggies (13-9) begin play Friday, Mar. 23 at 6:05 p.m. Mountain Time/5:05 p.m. Pacific on ESPN3. The series continues Saturday, Mar. 24 at 2:05 p.m. MT/1:05 p.m. PT ont he WAC Digital Network, and concludes Sunday at 12:05 p.m. MT/11:05 a.m. PT on ESPN3.

NEWS AND NOTES
- Seattle U enters the WAC-opening series with a 12-7 overall record following three straight non-conference wins last week.
- Zach Wolf was named WAC Pitcher of the Week on March 19. He picked up a trio of saves as the Redhawks went 3-0 against Pacific Northwest opponents. He now has six saves on the season, good enough for second in the WAC statistical standings. He is also 3-0 with a 2.70 ERA in 12 appearances this season.
- The Redhawks are batting a collective .291, led by Jake Cosgrove's .393 average. The rookie is second on the team in hits with 24 and is third with 13 RBIs. Austin Lively is batting .370 with a team-high 27 hits while Sean Sutton is batting .339 and Cameron Sterne is hitting at a .333 clip. Dalton Hurd leads the team lead with 18 RBIs while Sutton has 18.
- The Redhawks have 48 total extra-base hits on the year, including 34 doubles, five triples and nine home runs. Dalton Hurd has three of those homers while Lucas Denney has two and four others have one each.
- Dawson Day leads the pitching staff with a 1-0 record and 2.18 ERA in six appearances, including two starts. He has 15 strikeouts in 20.2 innings.
- Jake Prizina is 2-0 with a 3.26 ERA in five starts.The junior lefty has a team-high 27 strikeouts to go along with just six walks issued.
- The Redhawks were selected fourth in the WAC preseason poll, as voted on by the league's nine head coaches. New Mexico State was selected to finish second, and earned a pair of first-place votes.
