PORTLAND – (March 15) The Seattle University women’s tennis team have now won back-to-back matches after a 6-1 victory over Northern Colorado on Thursday morning in Portland.
The match didn’t start in favor of the Redhawks as they lost the doubles point, but they would bounce back. In singles, the Redhawks took care of business on every court.
“Really proud of our team today,” head coach Adam Reeb said. “We didn’t play a great doubles point, but we responded back strong in singles. Every player took responsibility and won their court which was outstanding to see. Our mentality and focus was great in the singles.”
Michelle Lui started it all with a 6-4, 6-1 win against Northern Colorado’s top opponent. That set the tone for the rest of the team and led them to a 6-1 hard-fought win right before another match tomorrow.
“We’re excited to host Illinois State at home on campus tomorrow,” Reeb said. “We hope a lot of people come out and support these ladies.”
The Redhawks host Illinois State at the SU Tennis Courts at 2:30 p.m. and then play at UW on Saturday at 2 p.m.
