PHOENIX - (Feb. 25) Keisha Lugito shot an impressive 2-under 70 in round three of the Grand Canyon Spring Invitational to lead the Seattle University women’s golf team to a fifth place finish on Sunday afternoon at the GCU Championship Golf Course.

Lugito’s third round moved her up 14 spots from the first two rounds and earned her a ninth place finish. Kimberlee Tottori finished with the second best score for the Redhawks, shooting an 8-over par overall — including a 1-over 73 in round three — good enough for a 15th place finish.

The tournament hosted 15 teams, and the fifth place finish for SU was well deserved.

“Really excited about the week,” head coach Marc Chandonnet said. “I believe this team is special and that sooner rather than later you’ll see them figure out how to start competing to win on a weekly basis. We had some great fun this week and I know we are all feeling good about the work we are putting in and what the future holds.”

The team will look to build on this performance on March 5-6 at the Fresno State Classic in Fresno, Calif.
