Michelle Lui won both, her doubles and singles match, but the Redhakws finished the weekend with a 6-1 loss to Pacific on Sunday.

STOCKTON, Calif. - (Jan. 28) The Seattle University women’s tennis team concluded a three-match weekend with a 6-1 loss to the University of the Pacific on Sunday afternoon at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.

Michelle Lui and Kelli Woodman won the first doubles match in the first flight 6-1, but the Tigers then took flights two and three to secure the doubles point.

The Redhawks then needed four singles wins in the six matches, but only got one. Lui played a tough match in the first flight, and ended up in the winning side with a score of 6-1, 4-6, 10-7. Audrey Scott battled in the sixth flight. She dropped the first set 6-1, but came back to win the second set 7-6, only to barely lose the tiebreaker 10-8.

“We came out with great energy today in the doubles,” head coach Adam Reeb said. “I thought we played very well there, and it was fun to watch. We fought hard in the singles as well, and just came up a little short. It was a good effort by the team. I’m so confident in this team and we just have to keep growing and getting better and we’ll be right where we need to be come conference play.

After the three matches this weekend, the Redhawks will look to get back on the practice courts, and get ready for two matches in Bozeman, Montana this following weekend. They play Montana on Saturday at 8 a.m., and then play Montana State on Sunday at 9 a.m.
