TURLOCK, Calif. – (Jan 25) After dropping a couple of close matches last weekend, the Seattle University women’s team will look to get on the winning side as they travel to California for three matches on the weekend.

The Redhawks will start the three-game stretch visiting Stanislaus State on Friday at 1 p.m., then they’ll play the Academy of Art University on Saturday at 11 a.m., and finish the weekend with the University of the Pacific on Sunday at 11 a.m.

Ahead of the busy weekend, we spoke to Kelli Woodman and asked her a few questions to get to know her a little better.

Where are you from?

Denver, Colorado

What attracted you to tennis?

My dad was the person who introduced me to tennis. Pretty soon after, I realized I loved the adrenaline because of the individual aspect of the sport.

What is your favorite thing about living in Seattle?

There is so much to explore and you can walk anywhere.

What kind of music would we find on your phone?

Mostly country, pop, and rap.

What is your favorite type of food?

A burger and sweet potato fries.

Who is your favorite athlete?

Serena Williams

What is your best memory as a Redhawk?

Receiving All-Conference team with Michelle Lui because of our 24wins and 7 losses my junior season.

What is your favorite tv show, and why?

New girl, because I relate so much to Jess. Her daily struggles are my life.

What is your hidden talent?

I can sing.

What is your favorite, and least favorite subject in school?

My favorite subject is International Law and my least favorite subject is statistics.

Other than tennis, what is your favorite sport to watch, and why?

I love watching hockey. It’s so fast-paced. You have to watch every second of it because you might miss something big.

What is your favorite hobby?

I love baking and trying new recipes.

What is one item you’d like to cross off your bucket list this year?

A month-long trip to Southeast Asia

If you were stuck on an island with one teammate, who would it be, and why?

If I were stuck on an island with one teammate, I would have to pick Sari. She’s an engineer so she could build us a shelter out of anything. She is also a highly skilled fisherwoman, so I wouldn’t have to worry about food.
