MESA, Ariz. – (May 23) Seattle University senior outfielder Aaron Stroosma was named to the All-Western Athletic Conference Second Team as the league announced its All-WAC baseball teams and major awards as selected by the league's nine head coaches Tuesday night.
The Sedro Woolley, Wash., native led the Redhawks in WAC play with a .340 average, 35 hits and 17 run scored. He had four doubles, three home runs, 15 RBIs and 10 stolen bases during the 24-game conference slate.
After claiming the sixth-seed in the WAC Tournament, Seattle U will face third-seed Sacramento State in their first game on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. A win advances the Redhawks to a 7 p.m. Thrusday meeting with top-seed New Mexico State. A first-round loss would send the Redhawks into the losers bracket for an 11 a.m. Thursday first pitch, but still with an opportunity to play back around in the double-elimination tournament.
