SEATTLE – (Mar. 5) The regular season is complete and the brackets are set for the 2016-17 Western Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments, set to begin March 8 (women) and March 9 (men) at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.

Seattle U's women's team concluded the regular season with a 13-16 overall mark and 10-4 record in WAC play. The Redhawks earned a 65-55 win over Utah Valley on Saturday to secure second place in the league standings and the No. 2 seed in the WAC Tournament. The women will now face seventh-seed Chicago State in the second quarterfinals game on Wednesday. Tip off time from the Orleans Arena is set for 4:30 p.m. PT. The game will be streamed live on the WAC Digital Network.

Women's basketball swept the Cougars during the regular season, earning a 64-51 win in Chicago and an 82-53 victory in Seattle. With a win, the Redhawks would advance to Friday's 2:30 p.m. semifinal game against the winner of No. 3 CSU Bakersfield and No. 6 Utah Valley.

Seattle U men's basketball wrapped up the regular season with a 13-16 overall record and 5-9 WAC mark. The Redhawks earn the fifth seed in the WAC Tournament and will face fourth seed Utah Valley in the tournament's quarterfinals on Thursday. That game is set for a 2 p.m. PT start and will air live on the WAC Digital Network. The game can also be heard live on KTTH 770 AM or mynorthwest.com.

The Redhawks and Wolverines split the home-and-home series, each winning on their home court. Thursday's winner will advance to face top-seed CSU Bakersfield in the semifinals on Friday at 6 p.m. on ESPN3.

Both the men's and women's WAC Tournament champions will receive the league's automatic berth into their respective 2017 NCAA Tournament.
