LEWISTON, Idaho - (Feb. 19) After splitting their first two games of the weekend, the Seattle U men's tennis team fell to the University of Idaho Sunday morning 6-1.

It was a tough match for SU as freshman Jeremiah Kalmus was the lone Redhawk to record a victory. He defeated Guilhherme Scarpelli in singles 6-3, 6-3. Senior John Stormans battled Lucas Coutinho in the singles number four spot as he took the Vandal's sophomore to three sets before falling 7-6, 5-7, 11-9.

While the results appeared to be a bit one sided, the Redhawks competed well in spurts and demonstrated they have the abillity to play with anyone.

"We knew that Idaho would challenge us to raise our level, and across the board, we showed we have the ability to play with anyone," said assistant coach Matt Look.

"Unfortunately, we couldn't quite climb the mountain today, but knowing where the top is gives us the belief that we'll be ready for our upcoming matches."

Next weekend SU travels to Colorado Springs, Colo., to face Colorado College and Air Foce on Saturday, followed by a Sunday matchup with Northern Arizona.
