SEATTLE - (Feb. 14) Seattle U’s Michelle Lui has been named the Western Athletic Conference Tennis Player of the Week for Feb. 6-12.
Head coach Adam Reeb has been impressed with the consistency and grit Lui has shown so far to begin the season.
"Michelle is very deserving of this honor," said Reeb. "She plays the top line for us every match in singles and doubles, so she always gets every team's best shot.
Michelle has so been tough this year, working hard off the court and battling some injuries to get herself ready to compete every match for our team.
She played very well this past weekend and was instrumental in helping our team get a victory against an always tough Eastern Washington squad."
Lui joins her teammate Caroline Maltby, as the second member of the woman's tennis team to be recognized as the WAC player of the week so far this season.
The Redhawks travel to Portland, Ore., this weekend to face UP and UC Irvine as they look to improve upon their 3-5 record.
