SEATTLE - (Feb. 12) The Seattle U men's tennis team won its fourth consecutive game Sunday afternoon at the Tennis Center at Sand Point with a 7-0 victory over Linfield College. Prior to the match, the team hosted a junior clinic with the Sand Point juniors which was a great experience according to head coach Adam Reeb.
As for the match itself, SU was able to get a clean sweep in doubles thanks to a tightly contested 7-6 victory posted by Trenton Nield and Matt Alderson.
Singles play was dominated by the Redhawks as each match ended in a two set victory. Reeb is hopeful the team can carry over their impressive play during this four game win streak on the road next week in Idaho.
"Today was a great day," said Reeb. "We had fun with the junior clinic before the match and then the guys played a really solid match. We again got the doubles and then really kept that momentum going in the singles.
We feel about taking care of business at home the past two weekends and now look forward to going on the road for some very tough matches coming up."
With the victory, SU climbed above the .500 mark for the first time this season and garnered their sixth win in the process.
They travel to Lewiston, Idaho next Friday to take on Idaho State at 3:00 p.m.
