DENVER (Feb. 6) – Alexis Montgomery of the Seattle University women’s basketball team has been named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Player of the Week, for the period ending on Feb. 5. Montgomery tallied her fifth double-double of the season in SU’s 69-51 win at Utah Valley on Saturday.
Montgomery, a native of Beaverton, Oregon, recorded 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists in the Redhawks’ road win this weekend. She shot 6-13 from the field, 3-6 from deep, and 2-2 at the free throw line. The effort marked Montgomery’s fourth double-double in her last five WAC contests.
On the season, Montgomery paces Seattle U in scoring (16.4), rebounding (7.8), and assists (2.9) per game. She ranks second in the WAC in scoring, third in rebounding, and sixth in assists.
Seattle U is alone in second place in the WAC with a 6-1 record. It hosts Chicago State and UMKC this weekend to begin the second round of conference play.
