PORTLAND, Ore. (Jan 28) - One day removed from a dramatic 4-3 comeback win over the Portland State Vikings, the Seattle U men's tennis team (2-5) ran into a bit of a buzzsaw against the Portland Pilots (3-0) as they fell 7-0.

The Redhawks appeared to suffer a bit of an emotional letdown as they were unwilling to bring the same intensity to today's match, despite some strong showings in singles, which assistant coach Matt Look noted.

"Tough match today with a very strong Pilots team," said Look.  "We weren't able to raise our intensity level in the doubles matches, but we really played some quality tennis in the singles. They forced us to raise our game and we'll draw on those moments in our upcoming matches."

In particular, sophomore Jeremiah Kalmus displayed some strong moments before dropping his set to UP's Alex Wallace 6-2, 6-4.

SU will return to the courts next weekend as they host George Fox University starting Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Tennis Center at Sand Point.
