EUGENE, Ore. - (Jan 21) A day after securing their first win of the season, the Seattle U men's tennis team (1-4) fell 5-2 to Montana State (1-1) Saturday morning.
Unlike Friday's match, the Redhawks were unable to sustain the same focus and timely play needed to get the sweep against MSU.
One player able to carry over his impressive Friday performance was sophomore Jeremiah Kalmus, who defeated Alexander Flink in singles 4-6, 6-3, 6-0. He also won his doubles match with freshman Alex Chan, 6-3.
Head Coach Adam Reeb shared his thoughts on Saturday's loss to the Bobcats.
"Montana St. got the best of us today," said Reeb. "We had a lot of opportunities in this match but unfortunately didn't execute well on those big points. Jeremiah Kalmus and Alex Chan had great days and really played some solid tennis. We'll look to get back on the practice court and continue to get better."
The Redhawks will return to the court Friday, Jan. 27 as they take on the Portland State Vikings in Portland, Ore at 12:00 p.m. They then take on the Portland Pilots Saturday, Jan. 28 at 10:30 a.m.
