EUGENE, Ore. -  (Jan 20) The Seattle U men's tennis team (1-3) recorded it's first win of the season Friday morning as they defeated Montana State (0-1) 5-2 in a neutral site match against the Bobcats.

The Redhawks managed to bounce back from last week's tough opening weekend that included matches against Washington and Eastern Washington, and head coach Adam Reeb was extemely proud of his team's performance.

In particular he noted the leadership displayed by captains John Stormans and Connor Leahy.

"Unbelievable effort by the guys today," said Reeb. "All across the board the grit and mental toughness was outstanding. We had a lot of talks this week about the effort and passion we need to play with each day, and I credit our captains John Stormans and Connor Leahy with leading the charge this week with the guys.

Every single guy contributed today and gave their best, and that's what our team is all about. I'm so proud of these guys and looking forward to getting after it again tomorrow morning."

Seattle U faces the Bobcats in Eugene for the second straight day tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. With a win, the Redhawks will improve their record to 2-3 on the season.
