DENVER (Jan. 17) – Blaise Wittenauer-Lee of Seattle University women’s swimming has been named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Swimmer of the Week, for the period ending Jan. 15. The senior won four events at Air Force last weekend.

On Friday, Wittenauer-Lee won the 200 IM and the 200 breaststroke at Air Force. She posted a 2:09.82 to take first in the 200 IM and then swam a 2:22.25 to blow away the rest of the field in the 200 breaststroke.

The following day, the native of Portland, Oregon, won two more individual races, helping SU beat Northern Colorado. She won the 400 IM and the 100 breaststroke. In the 400 IM, Wittenauer-Lee tallied a 4:40.73, winning by nearly five seconds. She followed by logging a 1:05.04 in the 100 breaststroke, touching the wall first.

Wittenauer-Lee has been dominant throughout the season, recording NCAA ‘B’ cuts in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke events. She has the top time in the WAC in the 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke, and 200 IM this season.

This marks Wittenauer-Lee’s third WAC weekly honor of the season.

Seattle University hosts Simon Fraser in its final home meet of the season on Saturday, Jan. 21. The contest is set for a noon start at the Connolly Complex.
