Women's swimming knocked off Northern Colorado Saturday, as Blaise Wittenauer-Lee won two more events in the meet at Air Force

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Jan. 14) - Seattle University women’s swimming beat Northern Colorado, 139-84, Saturday. The Redhawks also dropped a 132-85 decision to Air Force. The contest was held at the Air Force Academy Natatorium.

“We had a better day today (than yesterday),” said Coach Craig Nisgor. “Blaise continued her ways. It was really good to see Katie Rottman and Kaitlyn Overstreet win. Kristin Hoffman, Emma Foster, and Annika Perry had really strong swims. Overall, it was a good day.”

Following a pair of wins Friday, Blaise Wittenauer-Lee won twice on Saturday. In the 400 IM, she beat the rest of the field by nearly five seconds. She recorded a 4:40.73 showing to claim the win. Wittenauer-Lee also touched first in the 100 breaststroke with a 1:05.04 performance.

In the 100 butterfly, Kaitlyn Overstreet touched first. She outreached Esther Min of Air Force, notching a 58.33 time, just ahead of Min’s 58.73.

Katie Rottman won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:00.54. She edged out Leilani Herrera of Northern Colorado, who finished with a 1:00.57 showing.

Kristin Hoffman took second in both the 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle. Her 54.70 time was a clear second in the 100, while she swam a 1:59.40 in the 200 race.

In the 50 freestyle, Paige Treff finished second, as her 24.32 time was just .08 off the lead Saturday. Annika Perry took third in the 100 breaststroke, swimming a 1:06.70, just over a second off the lead.

Emma Foster was a fourth-place finisher in both the 500 freestyle and 1000 freestyle. She logged a time of 5:31.75 in the 500 free and a 11:06.58 performance in the 1000 freestyle.

Seattle University welcomes Simon Fraser for its final home meet of the season on Saturday, Jan. 21. The contest is scheduled for a noon start at the Connolly Complex.
