COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Jan. 13)- Seattle University women’s swimming competed at the Air Force Academy Friday night. The Redhawks dropped a 130-89 decision and fell to Northern Colorado, 115-99.

Blaise Wittenauer-Lee posted a 2:09.82 in the 200 IM, touching first in the race. In the 200 breaststroke, she won by over five seconds, logging a 2:22.25 time.

Paige Treff won the 50 freestyle, swimming a 24.26 to top the field.

“Blaise kept her performance up,” said Coach Craig Nisgor. “Paige had a solid 50 to win.”

In the 200 freestyle, Celeste Salopek finished second. She recorded a 1:58.28 time. Kaitlyn Overstreet swam a 2:10.69 in the 200 butterfly, placing second for SU. In the 100 freestyle, Kristin Hoffman took third, registering a 54.46 race.

The 200 freestyle relay team of Treff, Maddie Dickman, Sidney Pinger, and Jayna Van Stone combined for a 1:39.65, good for third place Friday. The time is the best by a 200 free squad at SU this season.

“We were a little bit sluggish today,” said Coach Craig Nisgor. “Hopefully we can do some big things tomorrow.”

Seattle U returns to action tomorrow to face the same schools at Air Force. The meet will be streamed live by Campus Insiders starting at 11 a.m. Mountain (10 a.m. Pacific).
