SEATTLE - (Jan. 13) The Seattle U men's tennis team opened it's spring season with a road doubleheader against the University of Washington, falling 7-0 in both matches.
Head coach Adam Reeb knew going in what kind of test the the nationally ranked Huskies would provide for the Redhawks, and while both match scores might not reflect it, he was happy with his player's effort.
"It was a great challenge for our guys to open the season with a doubleheader against nationally ranked UW, and while the scores were not in our favor, I'm proud of the guys efforts and this is definitely something we can build on, said Reeb."
"We talked about focusing on us and what we can control, and I think the guys did a good job of that. It's only our first matches of the year, so the execution will get better, but if the guys keep putting in everything they've got, I know we'll continue to get better. We've got to recover physically now to host EWU on Sunday at Sand Point."
The Redhawks welcome Eastern Washiungton to Seattle on Sunday, Jan. 15 at 10:30 a.m., a match that will take place at the Tennis Center at Sand Point.
