DENVER (Dec. 6) - Blaise Wittenauer-Lee of the women's swimming team has been named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Swimmer of the Week, for Nov. 30-Dec. 5. She also picked up CollegeSwimming.com's WAC Swimmer of the Week recognition.
The senior won three individual events and set three school records. at the 68th Annual Husky Invitational last weekend. She took first in the 200 IM, 100 breaststroke, and 200 breaststroke. Her times in each event are best in the WAC this season.
The native of Portland, Oregon, won the 100 breaststroke with a 1:01.19 performance. The time is an NCAA 'B' cut and broke her own SU record.
Wittenauer also claimed a victory in the 200 breaststroke. Her time of 2:11.26 is an NCAA 'B' cut and topped her own Redhawk record.
In the 200 IM, Wittenauer-Lee swam a 2:01.77 to touch first. She broke her own program record with the time.
She led off the 800 freestyle relay with a 200 time of 1:50.91, helping the group record the third-best time in school history.
Wittenauer-Lee won WAC Swimmer of the Week for the period ending Nov. 7.
