SEATTLE - (Dec. 2) A trio of Seattle University baseball players have been recognized on a pair of PerfectGame.org MLB Draft prospects lists. Junior left-handed pitcher Tarik Skubal is ranked 26th on the 2017 MLB Draft Top 100 College Players list, while fellow lefty Nick Meservey comes in at No. 51.

Also recognized is freshman lefty Nathan Bonck who was ranked 67th on the 2019 MLB Draft Top 100 Prospects list.

Skubal led the Redhawks’ pitching staff in 2016 with a 2.11 ERA. He went 6-1 in eight starts, calling two shutouts. The 6-3 lefty fanned 50 and walked just 17 in 42.2 innings of work

Meservey was named the 2016 Western Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year after going 7-2 in 16 appearances. The 6-5 Scottsdale, Ariz., native fanned 79 batters in 81.1 innings while holding a 2.32 ERA.

Bonck joins the Seattle U pitching staff this spring after prepping at Ketchikan High School in Ketchikan, Alaska. The 6-5 lefty completed his senior season with a 0.91 ERA, including two no-hitters and one perfect game. He was a member of the Alaska Region V Championship team in 2014 and 2015, was named to the All-Region V Team in 2014-16, was named the Gatorade Player of the Year in 2015 and was a First Team All-State selection in 2016.

The defending regular-season WAC champion Redhawks open the 2016 slate at home in Bannerwood Park in Bellevue, Wash., hosting SIUE in a four-game series beginning Friday, Feb. 17.
