The men's soccer team fell, 1-0, at Air Force Saturday afternoon. The Falcons scored late in the first half and held on for a victory on the last day of WAC regular season action.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Nov. 5) - Seattle University  men’s soccer fell, 1-0, at Air Force Saturday afternoon. The Falcons scored in the first half and made it stand up on the final day of Western Athletic Conference (WAC) regular season play.

With the result, the Redhawks finish 11-5-2 overall and 7-1-2 in the WAC. They earned the second seed in next weekend’s conference championship. SU has claimed a first-round bye for the tournament, held at Utah Valley next weekend.

On Saturday, senior goalie Jordan Hadden made three saves in the first half to keep Air Force off the board. In the 36th minute, however, Tucker Bone sent a long pass ahead to Trey Pujats, who finished a chip shot from eight yards out, giving the hosts a 1-0 advantage.

In the second half, SU tried to find the tying goal, but Falcons’ goalie John Wendt came up with four key saves, including a stop on a Sergio Rivas shot late in the match.

The Redhawks held a 16-12 margin in shots and attempted eight corner kicks, to six for the home side.

Seattle University will head to Orem, Utah, for the WAC Championship, beginning on Thursday, Nov. 10. The Redhawks will play in the semifinals on Friday, Nov. 11.
