COMPLETE 2016-17 WOMEN'S TENNIS SCHEDULE
SEATTLE - Head Coach Adam Reeb announced the 2016-17 Women's Tennis 2016-17 schedule today, with two PAC-12 opponents in UW and WSU as well as a trip to Boise State on February 3rd. Reeb elaborated on the benefits of facing so many quality opponents this year, despite dealing with some unforunate injuries.
"We have a very tough and loaded schedule for the women, but this group definitely embraces the challenge and is so hungry to get better, and I know that's what the girls will do this spring," said Reeb.
"We're always excited to test ourselves against PAC-12 opponents in Washington St. and UW and we're looking forward to a trip to Boise in early February as well. There are not many easy matches on the schedule and we'll need all the girls to step up this spring season due to some injuries we currently have, but this group are such fighters and hard workers and I'm confident they'll do just that.
Our end game is always to peak at the WAC Tournament, and it's nice we get to play one of our regular season clusters in Las Cruces in March that should help prepare us for the conference tournament there the following month. If we continue to focus on getting better and competing well every time out, we'll be in a good spot come the end of April."
The Redhawks built some considerable momemtum this fall when Madison Maloney and Michelle Lui defeated Audrey Mayer and Alexis Nelson of Cal-Berkeley in a doubles match at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships, which they will look to carry over to the spring.
In addition to WSU, UW, and Boise St, the women will face Gonzaga, Portland, and Air Force in non-conference play. They complete their regular season at home on Wednesday, April 12 at 5:00 PM vs. Puget Sound.
