SEATTLE - (Nov. 10) Seattle University volleyball fell to a surging CSU Bakersfield squad, 25-18, 25-18, 25-21, in Western Athletic Conference action Thursday night at the Connolly Complex.

The Redhawks dropped to 12-14 overall and 5-8 in league play while CSUB improved to 13-13 overall and 10-3 in the WAC, holding pace in second place.

Freshman Katarina Marinkovic led the Redhawks with 11 kills, hitting .296 for the match. Iris Ivanis had 15 digs and Kory White added four block assists.

The Redhawks hit .206 for the match, compared to CSUB’s .192 clip. But the ‘Runners collected 11 service aces to SU’s one.

CSUB’s Carol Grasso led all players with 15 kills and five aces while Aleksand Djordjevic chipped in eight.

The regular-season concludes Saturday when the Redhawks host Grand Canyon. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. in the Connolly Complex and will be preceded by a brief ceremony for seniors Matea Mamic, Iris Ivanis and Kerry Lane.
