Natasha Howe (Mission Viejo, Calif.) has been named Featured Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of November 8th – November 14th. Howe, a senior captain on the Women’s Soccer team, was named the Most Valuable Player in the WAC Conference Tournament last weekend. She scored in the Friday night win against Utah Valley and assisted on the tournament winning goal by Jessie Ray on Sunday. The previous weekend Natasha notched a hat-trick in the last regular season win at Utah Valley. Seattle University women’s soccer will play at fourth-seeded UCLA in an NCAA Tournament first-round match on Friday, Nov. 11. The game is set for a 7 p.m. start at Drake Stadium.
Off the field, Howe is seeking a degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Environmental Engineering. She has excelled in the classroom and currently holds over a 3.6 GPA. She is a two year team captain and has been involved in numerous community engagement efforts with her team, most notably with the Special Olympics.
The Seattle University athletics department names a Featured Student-Athlete each Tuesday based on performances both in the classroom and in competition. Student-athletes must earn over a 3.0 GPA and be at least a second year student to be nominated for the award. This is Howe’s second time earning the award, as she was also honored during the 2014 season.
