Madison Maloney (Idaho Fall, Idaho) has been named Featured Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of October 25th through October 31st. Maloney was one of four teammates who traveled to the ITA Northwest Regional Championships in Palo Alto last weekend. The junior contributed to a huge doubles win over a team from Cal Berkeley with partner Michelle Lui.
Off the field, Maloney is seeking a degree in Marketing from the Albers School of Business & Economics with a minor in Non-Profit Leadership and has maintained over a 3.4 GPA in her first two years at Seattle U. Maddie is a wonderful student-leader who started the Seattle University College Diabetes Chapter and has been actively involved with JDRF. She also is a member of Seattle U’s SAAC and has been involved in several service experiences off campus, especially at Community Lunch on Capitol Hill.
The Seattle University athletics department names a Featured Student-Athlete each week based on performances both in the classroom and in competition. Student-athletes must earn over a 3.0 GPA and be at least a second year student to be nominated for the award.
