SEATTLE - (Oct. 12) A three-match road swing continues this week for Seattle University volleyball as the quad heads out to face Western Athletic Conference rivals Grand Canyon on Thursday and CSU Bakersfield on Saturday.

ABOUT THE REDHAWKS (9-9, 2-3 WAC)
• Seattle U opened a three-match WAC road swing last week, falling 3-1 at Utah Valley.
• Matea Mamic had 14 kills and freshman Mila Duarte added 13 kills in the four-set setback.
• The Redhawks are among the leaders in the WAC in handful of statistical categories. Maja Stojanovic is second in hitting percentage (.340), Matea Mamic ranks tied for second in kills per set (3.74), Katarina Marinkovic is second with 0.42 aces per set and Shae Harris is fourth in assists per set (8.47). As a team, SU is also first in service aces with 1.63 per set.
• Iris Ivanis is averaging 4.48 dps while Stojanovic averages 1.14 blocks per set.
• Maja Stojanovic earned her first career WAC Player of the Week honor on Oct. 3 after leading SU with 4.33 points, 3.50 kills on .667 hitting, 1.00 blocks, 0.67 digs, 0.33 service aces and 0.33 assists per set.
• The Redhawks went 2-1 at the Rutgers Invitational Sept. 15-16 to wrap up non-conference play. They took straight-set victories from Seton Hall and the host Scarlet Knights. The win over Rutgers marked the program’s first-ever win against the Big Ten opponent.
• Matea Mamic earned her second All-Tournament selection of the season at the Rutgers Invite. Shae Harris was also named to the All-Tournament Team.
• Matea Mamic and Maja Stojanovic were named to the All-Tournament Team of the Ultra Ankle Challenge, hosted by Oregon State.
• Seattle U was selected third in the 2016 Western Athletic Conference preseason poll.
• 2015 All-WAC selection Matea Mamic was voted to the 14-member Preseason All-WAC Team.
• Head Coach James Finley enters his fourth year at the helm of the program. Under Finley in 2015, the Redhawks had their best season yet, going 18-11 overall and 9-5 in WAC play.
• SU returns seven letterwinners, including four starters.
• The 2016 SU roster has true international flavor as six different countries are represented on the 14-member squad. That includes the United State (five different states), Canada (three different provinces), Serbia, Croatia and Peru.
ABOUT THE LOPES (4-13, 0-5 WAC)
Grand Canyon has struggled to a 4-13 overall record and 0-5 thus far in WAC play. The Lopes won four straight matches early in the season, but have since lost 12 straight. Katrice Pond leads GCU with 3.30 kps and Natalie Tardy adds 3.15 kps. The Lopes hit at a .197 clip while opponents hit at a .243 percentage.
SERIES HISTORY AGAINST GCU
Seattle U is a perfect 7-0 in records kept since 1999. Last fall, the Redhawks swept the home-and-home series, winning 3-0 in both Seattle and Phoenix.
ABOUT THE ‘RUNNERS (6-12, 3-2 WAC)
CSUB is 6-12 overall and 3-2 in WAC play. The ‘Runners suffered a eight-match losing streak early in the year, but have since won five of their last eight matches. Carol Grasso leads the team with 3.89 kps.
SERIES HISTORY AGAINST CSUB
Seattle U is 7-12 since the 1999 season in matches played against the ‘Runners. CSUB won both meetings of 2015 by scores of 3-1.
