Sam Langston (Sammamish, Wash.) has been named Featured Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of October 11th through October 17th. Langston, a senior defender, contributed to a 5-0 win over Houston Baptist with a goal and assist Friday night at Championship Field. Langston has been an important member of the back line for the Redhawks, starting in nine games this season and playing 90 minutes last week vs San Jose State. He now has two goals and two assists on the season. The men’s soccer team is now 8-4 on the season and 4-0 in WAC conference play.
Off the field, Langston is seeking a degree in Finance from the Albers School of Business & Economics and has maintained over a 3.3 GPA in his first two years at Seattle University after transferring from Nebraska Omaha.
The Seattle University athletics department names a Featured Student-Athlete each Tuesday based on performances both in the classroom and in competition. Langston is our second honoree for the 2016-17 academic year.
