TACOMA, Wash. – (Oct. 11) Senior Ellen Brantberg shot a two-under 70 in the final round of the Pat Lesser-Harbottle Invitational Tuesday at the Tacoma Country and Golf Club as Seattle University women’s golf finished ninth overall in the field of 15. The tournament is hosted annually by Seattle U and named after Hall of Famer Pat Lesser-Harbottle.
“This was avery successful week for our program and we really appreciate everyone who helped make this event happen, including all the staff at the Tacoma Country and Golf Club,” said SU Head Coach Marc Chandonnet.
Brantberg’s 70 on Tuesday was the low round of the tournament for a Redhawk. She also shot a 74 and 79 for a three-round total of 223, which put her in a tie for 12th overall.
Yen Ting Wong finished in a tie for 31st, shooting 78-78-74 for a total score of 230. Jamie Huo also finished in the top 40 individually with a three-round total of 232 (79-75-78).
“We missed having one of our best players out there, but the team battled nicely and finished with a strong final round,” Chandonnet said. “We’re excited to get to work in the offseason and prepare for spring.”
The Redhawks were without sophomore Linette Chua due to injury.
Defending NCAA Champions Washington won the team title on the par-72, 6,086-yard course. The Huskies finished with a +16 880. Julianne Alvarez won the individual title, finishing with a three-under 213 (71-73-69).
The tournament wrapped up fall play for the Redhawks who will return to action in February at the Battle of the Rock, hosted by UC Riverside at the Oak Quarry Golf Club in Riverside, Calif.
