SAN JOSE, Calif. - (Oct. 6) Seattle University men’s soccer remained unbeaten in Western Athletic Conference play with a 2-1 win at San Jose State Thursday afternoon.

The Redhawks (7-4-0, 3-0-0 WAC) got goals from David Olsen and Jeff Rose for their third straight victory. SJSU dropped to 1-9-2 overall and 0-2-1 in WAC play.

Olsen notched his third goal of the season as the game clock rolled into the 17th minute of play. Moments earlier Rose sent a corner kick into the box. After the Spartans failed to properly clear the ball out of the box, Olsen settled the rebound and hit it low and to the left of goalkeeper Nedin Tucakovic.

Less than three minutes into the second half a defensive miscue by the Redhawks evened the score at 1-1. Goalkeeper Jordan Hadden misplayed a ball sent back to him from his own defense and the pass ended up in the back of the net for an own goal.

Rose and Olsen teamed to take the lead back in the 56th minute. Out on the right flank, Olsen sent a ball into the box for Rose, who headed it into the net from inside the six.

The Spartans managed four shots in the final 30 minutes, but three went wide or high of the frame and the final chance - a header shot by Jeremy Romero with under a minute to play - was saved by Hadden to preserve the win.
