SEATTLE - (Oct. 7) Sitting at an even 2-2 in Western Athletic Conference play, Seattle University volleyball heads out on the road for a single match this week, traveling to take on Utah Valley Saturday at 1 p.m. Mountain/12 p.m. Pacific.
Due to a scheduling conflict at the UCCU Center and ongoing renovations to the PE Building, the match will be contested at Pleasant Grove High School in Pleasant Grove, Utah.

ABOUT THE REDHAWKS (9-8, 2-2 WAC)
• Seattle U went 2-0 in two WAC matches at home last week, defeating both UMKC and Chicago State in straight sets.
• Maja Stojanovic earned her first career WAC Player of the Week honor on Oct. 3 after leading SU with 4.33 points, 3.50 kills on .667 hitting, 1.00 blocks, 0.67 digs, 0.33 service aces and 0.33 assists per set.
• The Redhawks are among the leaders in the WAC in handful of statistical categories. Maja Stojanovic is second in hugging percentage (.367), Matea Mamic ranks third in kills per set (3.76) and Katarina Marinkovic is second with 0.42 aces per set. As a team, SU is also first in service aces with 1.62 per set.
• Iris Ivanis is averaging 4.32 dps while Stojanovic averages 1.09 blocks per set.
• The Redhawks went 2-1 at the Rutgers Invitational Sept. 15-16 to wrap up non-conference play. They took straight-set victories from Seton Hall and the host Scarlet Knights. The win over Rutgers marked the program’s first-ever win against the Big Ten opponent.
• Matea Mamic earned her second All-Tournament selection of the season at the Rutgers Invite. Shae Harris was also named to the All-Tournament Team.
• Matea Mamic and Maja Stojanovic were named to the All-Tournament Team of the Ultra Ankle Challenge, hosted by Oregon State.
• Seattle U was selected third in the 2016 Western Athletic Conference preseason poll.
• 2015 All-WAC selection Matea Mamic was voted to the 14-member Preseason All-WAC Team.
• Head Coach James Finley enters his fourth year at the helm of the program. Under Finley in 2015, the Redhawks had their best season yet, going 18-11 overall and 9-5 in WAC play.
• SU returns seven letterwinners, including four starters.
• The 2016 SU roster has true international flavor as six different countries are represented on the 14-member squad. That includes the United State (five different states), Canada (three different provinces), Serbia, Croatia and Peru.
ABOUT THE WOLVERINES (8-6, 1-0 WAC)
Utah Valley is 6-11 overall and, along with Seattle U, one of four teams with a 2-2 WAC record. The Wolverines hit at a collective .167 percent clip while their opponents hit at a .206 average. Lexi Thompson leads UVU with 2.78 kps. Defense is key to the Wolverine game plan as they average 3.05 blocks per set, which leads the WAC. Individually, Madison Dennison leads the league with 1.57 bps.
SERIES HISTORY AGAINST UVU
Seattle U holds a 5-4 all-time record against the Wolverines. Last year the teams split the home-and-home series, each winning on their home court in straight sets.
