SEATTLE - (Sept. 13) Seattle University women’s soccer looks to snap a two-game skid with a pair of in-state rivalry match-ups this week. The Redhawks open the week for a Thursday meeting at Washington State at 5 p.m. They return home to host Gonzaga on Sunday at noon - the first game of a Redhawk soccer doubleheader.

ABOUT THE REDHAWKS
• The Redhawks (2-3-1) have been defensively solid through their fist six games this season, posting a pair of shutouts and allowing just five total goals.
• Redshirt freshman Ashley Routh has played all but nine minutes in goal and holds a .667 save percentage to go along with a 0.82 GAA.
• Senior transfer Brie Hooks has scored all four goals for the Redhawks, most recently the lone score in a 2-1 setback to Idaho.
• Stephanie Spiekerman was named WAC Defensive of the Week on Aug. 22 after playing the entire 90 minutes in the 1-0 shutout win against Texas (Aug. 19) as a center back. She held down the SU back line, limiting Texas to just one shot on goal despite 17 total attempts.
• The Redhawks begin this season as the co-favorite to finish atop the Western Athletic Conference standings in a preseason vote of the league’s eight head coaches.
• Three players were also named to the 11-member Preseason All-WAC Team, including sophomore forward Kari White, redshirt sophomore midfielder Isabelle Butterfield and junior defender Stephanie Spiekerman.
• Seattle U went 14-3-3 overall and 8-0-2 in WAC play in 2015, claiming the 2015 regular-season title before falling to UVU in the championship match of the WAC Tournament.
• The Redhawks return six starters from last year’s squad, along with a pair of key players from the 2014 lineup who redshirted last fall and senior transfer Brie Hooks who was the University of Colorado Female Athlete of the Year and an All-Pac-12 Second Team selection in 2014.
ABOUT THE COUGARS (3-2-1)
Washington State is 3-2-1 on the year and riding a three-match unbeaten streak, including wins over Montana and North Dakota State. Most recently, the Cougars earned a 1-1 draw at TCU. They also earned an early-season win over the No. 13 Santa Clara. Two players have done most of the damage offensively, accounting for seven of the team’s nine goals. Morgan Weaver leads the Cougars with four goals while Alysha Overland has three. Kaitlyn Johnson has four assists while Ella Dederick has been the goalkeeper of record in all six games, making 18 saves while allowing just five scores.
SERIES HISTORY VS WSU
Seattle U is 1-5-0 all-time against the Cougars. The teams last met on Aug. 21, 2015 - both teams’ season opener. The result of that meeting was a 3-1 win for WSU.
ABOUT THE ZAGS (4-2-1)
Gonzaga enters the week with a 4-2-1 overall record. The Zags host Boise State on Thursday before making the trip West to Seattle on Sunday. Karley Baggerly leads the team with four goals for eight points. All told, eight different Zags have scored at least one goal while eight players have at least one assist each. Two Zag goalkeepers have combined to allow just eight goals through seven games.

Seattle U is 3-2-0 all-time against the Zags. The Redhawks won the last meeting - on Sept. 4, 2015, 1-0, on a first-half goal by Kyla Danforth.
