SEATTLE - (Aug. 25) The 2016 Seattle University volleyball season begins this weekend as the Redhawks travel to Corvallis, Ore., to take part in the Ultra Ankle Challenge, hosted by Oregon State.
Seattle U opens play on Friday, Aug. 26 against Portland at 12:30 p.m. Two matches are on the slate for Saturday, including a 10 a.m. first serve against Utah State and a 7 p.m. first serve against the host Beavers.

• Seattle U was selected third in the 2016 Western Athletic Conference preseason poll.
• 2015 All-WAC selection Matea Mamic was voted to the 14-member Preseason All-WAC Team.
• Head Coach James Finley enters his fourth year at the helm of the program. Under Finley in 2015, the Redhawks had their best season yet, going 18-11 overall and 9-5 in WAC play.
