LONDON – (Aug. 23) The Seattle University men's basketball team is five days into its 10-day European Tour, which includes stops in both London and Paris, as well as three international friendlies.
In addition to the opportunity to play basketball games and bond as a team, the Redhawks are earning college credit through the educational and cultural experiences on the trip. Time between games has the team visiting some of London's most famous and historic landmarks including the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Hampton Court Palace, Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace.
Joining the Seattle U squad on the trip is Matteo Ricci College professor, Dr. Wilson Edward Reed. A specialist in poverty in America and African American culture, Dr., Reed has had many of the men's basketball players in his classes and is thrilled for the opportunity to join the team, as well as the experience the players are receiving.
"The idea is to actually get them immersed in their own education," Dr. Reed stated. "To own it and to be an active part in it."

The Redhawks wrapped up the London portion of their trip Tuesday night with a 92-55 win over the Reading Rockets. The team will transfer to Paris on Wednesday, ferrying across the English Channel.
