The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) announced the 2016-’17 WAC Championship Schedule on Wednesday. Seattle U is just one of the five league teams who will host a championship this coming year.
The Redhawks are set to host the cross country championships on Oct. 29 at Jefferson Park Golf Course in Seattle, Wash.
Last season, both the men’s and women’s teams claimed third place in the championships.
“I am looking forward to welcoming everyone to Seattle, and to hosting the WAC Cross Country Championship meet this year,” Seattle U head cross country coach Trisha Steidl said. “We have a wonderful venue at the Jefferson Park Golf Course. The people there are great to work with, and we’re grateful for their support of the local cross country scene. This is going to be a great championship.”
Other highlights from the schedule include the announcement that men’s and women’s basketball championships will, for the seventh year in a row, be held at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.
