For the second consecutive year, Seattle University associate head coach Elliott Cribby will serve as the pitching coach for the 2016 USA Baseball Tournament of Stars presented by Major League Baseball. The event with 108 participating athletes will take place at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C. from June 21-26.
Cribby will serve as pitching coach for the Brave team, one of six teams competing in the tournament. Last year, Cribby’s team won the gold medal. Former East Carolina University head coach Billy Godwin will serve as head coach of the team.
The USA Baseball Tournament of Stars presented by Major League Baseball is comprised of the nation’s best ballplayers that are international age eligible (born Jan. 1, 1998 or 1999) for 18U National Team consideration. From this group, USA Baseball will select its 18U National Team to represent the United States at the 2016 18U Baseball World Cup Sept. 23-Oct. 2 in Monterrey, Mexico.
