Seattle U starts out with a pair of exhibition matches – at Santa Clara (Aug. 11) and at Trinity Western (Aug. 13) – before their season opener at Texas on Aug. 19. To close August, SU faces host Boise State (Aug. 26) and San Jose State (Aug. 28) at a tournament in Boise before opening the month of September vs. Portland at the University of Washington’s Labor Day tournament (Sept. 2).
The Redhawks host the Huskies on Sept. 5 in their regular season home opener before closing the week with a home match vs. Idaho (Sept. 9). SU will play three of their remaining four non-conference contests on the road, making the first trip to Washington State since the win in Pullman in the 2014 NCAA Tournament (Sept. 15), UC Riverside (Sept. 22), and Cal Poly (12 noon), hosting cross-state rival Gonzaga on Sept. 18.
The beginning of October brings conference play for the Redhawks, hosting Utah Valley (Oct. 1) and Grand Canyon (Oct. 7) to open league competition, with home WAC games also vs. UMKC (Oct. 20) and Chicago State (Oct. 22) later in the month. SU will face CSU Bakersfield (Oct. 9), NM State (Oct. 14), UTRGV (Oct. 16), and Utah Valley (Oct. 28) on the road.
The top six eligible teams following regular season competition advance to the WAC Tournament, this year in Kansas City, Mo., on Nov. 3-6, with the winner receiving the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
