Seattle University men’s tennis freshman Michael Schoettler (Tacoma, Wash.) and assistant coach Matt Look recently participated and volunteered in the 28th annual Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) Tennis Fundraiser on May 6-7, 2016.
“This weekend, we raised money to help find a cure for cystic fibrosis,” said Schoettler. “These contributions will make a difference in the lives of those families touched by CF. It was an honor and a pleasure to be able to participate in this awesome event.”
During Friday’s Tennis Ball, there was a silent auction for donated items and a live auction during which each team was auctioned off to raise money for CF. Each team then played in honor of a child with CF in Saturday’s pro/am tournament at Tacoma Lawn Tennis Club. Schoettler played doubles with his uncle in the tournament.
The team and individual participation in community service follows in line with the Seattle U mission to educate the whole person.
