Trenton Nield has attended three different high schools in central California – Laurel Springs, Pleasant Valley, and Aptos – and competed in the varsity No. 1 spot as a freshman and a sophomore. He was also undefeated at No. 1 singles as a freshman. At the start of his high school career, he also was a starter in basketball but decided to focus solely on tennis.
Reeb on Nield: "Trenton is a great addition for our program. He plays an aggressive, all court style of tennis which will be fun and exciting to watch and coach. His game translates well to both singles and doubles, which is so important in college tennis. We look for Trenton to come in and make an impact for us right away. The thing I most love about him is that he is a court rat. Trenton loves to be on the court and his passion is tennis. That's exactly the type of student-athlete we want in our program. Someone who loves the game and eats, sleeps, and breathes it. Trenton used to live in the Seattle area, so we know he is excited to come back here for college and he can't wait to join our program."
Alex Chan is the No. 1 varsity singles player from Thomas Jefferson High School in Auburn, Wash. He finished third at districts three times and as high as third at state in 2014-15 as a junior. He was also named Team MVP as well as League MVP as a junior. On the national level, he competed with Boys 12’s Zonal Team in 2011-12 and Boys 16’s Zonals in 2014.
Reeb on Chan: "Alex is a local guy who has a very talented game. He trains out of Tennis Center at Sand Point, so we know he has been well coached and has solid fundamentals. Alex moves very well around the court and has some big weapons in his groundstrokes. We're really excited for him to be joining our program and think he has a really bright future ahead of him."
Miko Pasimio is a two-time varsity letterwinner in No. 1 singles from Odyssey Charter School. He went 30-0 in singles matches and won every Intermountain Sectionals match in doubles. Pasimio was a quarterfinalist at the BNPP Pre-Qualifier and won Spring Master’s National Level 4 in 2014. Also competing at Clark High School, he helped lead the team to a state championship in 2012 and 2013 and was named Team MVP both seasons.
Reeb on Pasimio: "Miko is a great kid and a big addition for us. He's a great player who will be a significant contributor for us right away, but even more importantly, he brings great leadership and teammate skills to our squad. Miko is very hard working and will lead our guys through his efforts and actions. He loves being on a team and brings great positive energy wherever he is. Miko is one of those essential guys you have to have on the team. We're so happy to have him here and look forward to a great career at SU for him."
Adrian Sanabria
Adrian Sanabria comes to Seattle U from Weil Preparatory School in Ojai, Calif. and is interested in pursuing a career in investment banking after playing tennis in college. He comes to Seattle U from one of the top tennis academies in the U.S.
Reeb on Sanabria: "Adrian is going to be a solid player for us. He is an extremely hard worker and another guy who just loves tennis. He's got great footwork and is a very consistent player from the baseline. He can also move forward to the net though, and he is always putting in the time to get better. We're really excited to coach him as a staff as he is someone who is constantly striving to improve his game. Adrian is really going to help our program as we continue to try to make strides in the WAC."
