Seattle University softball’s Hayley Beckstrom (Maple Valley, Wash.) has been named GoSeattleU.com Featured Student-Athlete of the week for the week of Apr. 25-May 1, 2016.
Beckstrom ended the regular season the same way she started it, hitting a two-run bomb in the Redhawks’ 8-3 victory to clinch the series win vs. Utah Valley on Senior Day. She also started at catcher for Seattle U.
Last weekend, the Redhawks earned their first WAC series victory of the season, with a win vs. Utah Valley in game one and game three of the series.
In the classroom, Beckstrom also excels as a communication studies major with a 3.464 cumulative GPA.
Seattle U hosts the Western Athletic Conference softball tournament next Thursday, May 12-Saturday, May 14. The No. 4 seed Redhawks face No. 5 seed Utah Valley in game one of the double-elimination tournament at 10:30 am on Thursday.
