After coxing the varsity 8+ at last weekend’s Opening Day Regatta, Seattle University women’s rowing’s Abigail Wells (Portland, Ore.) has been named the Featured Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of May 2-8, 2016.

Wells coxed the varsity 8+ at last weekend’s Opening Day Regatta in the Emerald City as well as at the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association (WIRA) Championships two weeks ago and throughout the entire spring season. The boat’s best finish was at Portland’s Easter Egg Race earlier this spring where they finished second.

Excelling academically as well as athletically, Wells has an impressive 3.89 GPA as a double major in environmental science and cell and molecular biology.

The varsity 8+ closes their spring season this weekend on Saturday, May 14 at the Pacific Coast Rowing Championships in Rancho Cordova, Calif.
