Seattle University baseball Hall of Famer Bob Neubauer has been bestowed the honor of having a baseball field named after him. He competed for the Redhawks from 1960-63 and, when he was inducted into the Hall of Fame, he held the SU school record for most runs batted in during a single season (1963) and during a career. In 2013, he was inducted into the Connecticut High School Association Hall of Fame after a 30-year career as a baseball and cross country coach.
After a vote of the Board of Education and Wallingford (CT) Town Council, the baseball field at Sheehan High School will be named the Robert M. Neubauer Field.
On May 9, prior to the high school baseball game between Lyman Hall High School and Sheehan High School, both schools for which Neubauer coached, he will be honored with the naming of the field.
