BLAINE, Wash. – Seattle University women’s golf started the three-round tournament in second place and, despite taking the top spot several times throughout day one, finished in second place at the Western Athletic Conference championships at Semiahmoo Country Club, marking their second straight top-two finish. Alongside champion NM State and third-place finisher Utah Valley, the Redhawks were one of just three teams to have multiple top-10 individual finishers.

Individually, Dorsey Addicks (Big Sky, Mont.) held the top spot after two rounds and led the Redhawks at the finish, tied for second with NM State’s Viviana Macias. Addicks shot a one-under-par 71 on day two, matching the tournament’s lowest individual round, shooting 73 and 75 on days one and three, respectively. Addicks finished just two strokes behind individual champion Kennedie Montoya.

Ellen Brantberg (Stockholm, Sweden) represented the Redhawks in the top 10, also shooting her lowest individual round on day two, a one-over-par 73, and finishing seven strokes behind Addicks.

Jamie Huo (Kent, Wash.), Alexus Song (Auburn, Wash.), and Yen Ting Wong (Singapore) finished 12th, 17th, and 25th, respectively.

After two rounds, Seattle U was just three strokes behind NM State, but shot their highest round of the tournament (304) as a team on day three.

Addicks and Song represented the Redhawks receiving First Team All-WAC honors.

Seattle U looks to continue improvement as all five Redhawk competitors are eligible to return to the team in 2016-17.
