“I’m so happy Kelli received this honor,” head coach Adam Reeb commented. “She did a great job in leading us to victory this weekend by sweeping both her doubles and singles matches. Kelli is a consummate professional and is a joy to coach. She prepares so well every day for practice and competition and that preparation shows in her results. Kelli is playing really well right now and we look forward to seeing her compete in our last home match of the year this Saturday and then in the WAC Tournament.”
Woodman won her fifth straight singles match, a 6-2, 6-1 win vs. Mary Hill, on Saturday, Apr. 16 as the Redhawks defeated Whitman, 5-2, at home. Woodman and doubles partner, Michelle Lui (Bellevue, Wash.), won their team-leading fourth straight doubles match, a 6-0 win vs. Hill and Hanna Greenberg.
Woodman is currently 13-6 in spring duals with one weekend to go while Woodman and Lui are 13-4 in spring doubles play heading into the final regular season weekend.
The Redhawks host Idaho at 11 a.m. at the SU Tennis Courts in their final regular season match before the SU men’s tennis team hosts Linfield at 3 p.m. Both teams head to the WAC Tournament next weekend in Texas.
