Song took second at the Bobcat Spring Invitational in Goodyear, Ariz., leading Seattle U to their first overall team victory of the season, and finished just one stroke behind the first place finisher (Northern Colorado’s Kala Keltz). Song shot a two-under-par 70, the lowest individual round of the tournament, in round one as well as a one-under-par 71 in round three to lead SU to the title by one stroke over Wyoming.
Alongside Song, teammate Dorsey Addicks (Big Sky, Mont.) also finished in the top five, just one stroke behind Song in third place. Jamie Huo (Kent, Wash.) also earned a top 10 finish while all five Redhawks finished 27th or higher among the field of 98. The victory also marked the team’s fifth top-five finish of the season.
The Redhawks now start final preparation for the WAC championship next weekend (Apr. 22-24) at nearby Semiahmoo Golf & Country Club in Blaine, Wash.
