After registering a record setting collegiate career by surpassing 1,000 career kills, senior Martina Samadan reached yet another milestone.  Samadan is the first Seattle University volleyball player in program history to lead all of NCAA Division I in a statistical category. This fall, Samadan posted a hitting percentage of .454, highest among all Division I players.

"Martina posses the uncanny ability to put herself in a position on the court to successfully attack the ball in more situations than any hitter I have ever coached.  With this ability she has shown that she can score even when the opponent commits their entire team to stopping her.  Martina is a special player who is truly a go to player. When you must score to win, you need a Martina on your team." added head coach James Finley

Finley continued, "Martina has been a major part of the positive culture growth and development of our program, while performing at a high level in the classroom.  She is the complete package every program needs to achieve excellence."

For the second consecutive year, Samadan earned First Team All-WAC honors, also continuing her high performance in the classroom, earning Academic All-WAC recognition. Samadan is scheduled to graduate in June with a degree in Sport and Exercise Science.
