Seattle University women’s rowing started the spring season at Portland’s Easter Egg Race on Vancouver Lake, Wash. as the varsity 8+ finished second and the novice 8+ won their respective race.

“We raced well today,” said head coach Jenny Park. “It was a great start to the season. We know what we need to work on now and are excited to get faster.”

The women’s varsity 8+ finished second with a time of 07:15.5, just behind Portland finishing first. The novice 8+ finished first ahead of Puget Sound, Portland, and Oregon.

The Redhawks are set to make their spring debut in the Emerald City next weekend (Apr. 2) at Washington’s Husky Open on the Montlake Cut.
