Seattle University men’s tennis (8-11, 0-1 WAC) won one of three doubles matches but would ultimately drop each of the remaining matches in a 7-0 loss at NM State (6-8, 1-0 WAC).
“New Mexico State is a really good team,” said head coach Adam Reeb. “Playing our first match outdoors on their home court was a tough task and unfortunately we were not up to the challenge today. They played well and deserved to win. We’ve got to prepare now for a battle in the morning with UMKC.”
After the Aggies had already clinched the doubles point, Tanner Berkabile (Las Vegas, Nev.) and Matt Alderson (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) earned a win in the No. 1 doubles spot. NMSU would follow with six straight sets victories to clinch the win.
Seattle U returns to competition on Friday, Mar. 25 vs. UMKC at 8:30 am and will close the weekend vs. UTRGV on Saturday, Mar. 26 at 9 am.
