Seattle U Embarks on Hectic Road Week
Seattle U softball earned wins vs. Princeton and San Diego to start last weekend and was able to play all scheduled games on the weekend for the first time since the last weekend in February. This week, the Redhawks travel to Portland State for a Tuesday doubleheader (3 p.m.) and to Santa Barbara, Calif. for UCSB’s Gaucho Classic II (Mar. 24-26).

Scouting Portland State (5-14)
Six of the Vikings’ last seven games have been cancelled due to weather, with their last contest on Mar. 12, a 5-1 loss to Towson, and playing only four games thus far in the month of March. Kortney Craker leads Portland State at the plate (.395, 12 runs, 4 2B, 3 HR) while Alyssa Burk owns a team-low 2.37 ERA.

Scouting San Diego (10-20)
The Toreros and Redhawks faced at last weekend’s San Diego State Classic II, a game SU won, 4-2, on Mar. 18. San Diego lost eight straight but most recently snapped the streak with a 14-7 win vs. Cal Poly to close the weekend (Mar. 20). Olivia Sandusky (.378, 23 runs, 5 2B, 1 3B, 4 HR, 18 RBI) leads the Toreros at the plate while, in the circle, Megan Sabbatini has a team-low 3.70 ERA.

Scouting UCSB (14-14)
UC Santa Barbara won four straight in early March before losing six of their last seven. Kristen Clark (.453, 24 runs, 1 HR, 7 RBI) leads the Gauchos at the plate while, in the circle, Ashley Ludlow has a team-low 2.95 ERA.

Scouting Santa Clara (5-24)
The Broncos are on a 13-game losing streak coming into this weekend, last earning a 7-2 win vs. Utah State on Mar. 5. Casandra Padilla is batting .298, leading Santa Clara at the plate (12 runs, 4 2B, 2 HR, 15 RBI) while all three members of the pitching staff have a 4.00+ ERA.
