“Connor has been rock solid for us,” said head coach Adam Reeb. “He consistently brings his best effort and a positive attitude every day and his results show that. He has been on a roll lately in singles and in doubles with John [Stormans] and his team-first attitude has been a spark for us. Congrats to Connor as he very much deserves this recognition.”
Leahy was the only Redhawk to win both singles and doubles matches in a pair of close, exciting 4-3 victories over the weekend. He has won eight of his last nine singles matches and is on a nine-match doubles win streak with partner John Stormans (Olympia, Wash.). He won the first singles match, giving Seattle U a 1-0 lead, in an eventual 4-3 victory vs. Swarthmore on Mar. 10. He also gave SU their first lead, 2-1, vs. Pacific (Ore.) on Mar. 12 en route to their comeback and a 4-3 win.
Seattle U closes a five-match homestand vs. Montana State on Wednesday, Mar. 16 at 1 p.m. at Amy Yee Tennis Center before starting conference play in Las Cruces, N.M. next week.
